LATEST AND GREATEST OF JMD

PR PUBS in a Month

Howdy readers, below I have some great finished projects that I created in the infamous June 2020 Summer PR PUBS class. I really enjoyed creating and designing these projects. I am going to explain my favorite parts of some of the projects and link them as well for reference. Feel free to dig deeper into each and every project.

First off I created a blog and the contents at the start were just learning about myself. But, by creating that blog post, I learned so much about myself and how I want others to see me as well. My joys of life are listed… enjoy!

I then stepped onto the path of learning Adobe products such as Photoshop and InDesign. I am super excited about learning about these apps. They can do a lot and I am happy to now know more about them and be able to navigate around them. They will help me in the future for whatever I may need in design purposes.

I then began creating some collateral for my old gymnastics gym. I really enjoyed this project because it hit so close to home. I actually went in and talked to my old coach about an idea for a design and much more. I think I came up with great and realistic designs that he could use if he ever needs. This was such a fun project and I think I would be interested in designing for sports or athletics. I think my voice was good for it.

I even created a business card, letterhead and envelope for Empire. I enjoyed doing this and I think by creating consistency it was a successful collateral project.

The next creation was a made-up project but was a realistic design for the OU recruitment services program. I enjoyed finding the target audiences and ways to communicate with them. I think my end results could have had a better call to action, but I still feel confident in them. In this project I created a design in the Adobe software product, Photoshop. The more I worked with Photoshop, the more I liked it. I totally suggest it!

Back to my designs for Empire… but this time for social. I am very into social, so creating was SUPER fun for me in this project. I created a post for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I made these designs on Canva. I think Canva is my favorite software that I created with this semester. It is super user-friendly, free and easy to use. I suggest it to everyone, even if you are not tech-savvy.

Newsletter. Yep, this one took a while. I spent hours working on this very tedious project.

I did a draft, then went on to creating. It is very important to do a draft before truly creating the design. I had to take breaks during this process, but I finished it and was really proud of it. I also loved that I created for a sports company, made it even more fun!

This summer has taught me more than just design products but more internal things that I think I may not have learned without this class. School is not only just for education but for also maturing. A summer-y is a great way to tell you exactly what I learned. I have grown so much in just four weeks, I hope you can live vicariously through me. Enjoy!

The Future. Wow, now that is scary to type out. I am not sure exactly where I am going and what I am doing. But I am way smarter, more intelligent, braver, more courageous, a risk-taker and more confident after this class. This class has done wonders.

Also, shout out to my momma for helping me through this beast of a class. I love you!

Godspeed.
